IDTA Syllabus
We follow an IDTA syllabus and train to take examinations in the following genres of dance. Ballet, Tap, Contemporary Modern Jazz. Although exams are not compulsory it is recommended that dancers train towards achieving their exams as this will enable dancers to train effectively with a steady progression whilst gaining qualifications and recognition for their learning.
Our graded classes are listed on our timetable. We offer smaller Awards and Rosettes in our performance classes as well as our graded classes so that all dancers can experience the progression and dedication required to work towards an end goal.
We have a 100% pass rate.
Awards & Rosettes
We also offer Awards and Rosettes which are completed up to twice a year. Awards are offered in most of our classes and are a smaller assessment where dancers can achieve acknowledgement for their learning.
These are ideal for dancers who do not wish to work towards grades however still want to gain some knowledge and develop skills on a smaller scale to the graded work.
Awards give dancers the opportunity to experience different styles, as graded work focuses on one style working towards a higher ability for each grade.
Awards we work towards are taken in all theatre styles:
Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Theatre Craft, Gym, National
Performance Opportunities
We love to perform and find that our dancers are a pleasure to take out into the dance world to showcase our talents. We have had the pleasure to perform at the Alexandra Theatre, Safari Park events and fundraisers within our community and we work towards doing a school production once every 2 years.
Performances require many skills not only dance technique but patience and cooperation and dedication, we find this helps our school flourish and creates great memories that we can cherish forever.
